WebleyDevelopment
Web architect and e-commerce specialist in Cardiff, Wales. Matthew Webley designs the platforms behind serious online retail, and founded Wootzoo to build affordable, bilingual, CIW-compliant software for Welsh childcare with Mudiad Meithrin.
Work
I'm a web architect. Through Webley Development I design commerce platforms from the storefront down to the server: Shopify and WooCommerce on the surface, bespoke PHP and Laravel engineered beneath. Fifteen years of craft, and a very small number of engagements, each chosen with care. A selection of the work.
-
Hymac Direct
A large WooCommerce clothing store. Pages were taking 11 to 20 seconds to respond. Fixing the server and caching brought that down to around 100 milliseconds.
-
PuzzleBug
A Shopify store. I've been building more online shops recently, on both Shopify and WooCommerce.
-
Manhire Job Shop
A recruitment job board, with a Laravel portal for candidates and staff, CV uploads and applications.
-
Fun Foundations
A custom-built website for a day nursery, with fees, locations, policies and a contact form.
-
Hair Lounge Cardiff
One of my oldest sites, and one I still maintain.

Making Wales digital
Welsh childcare deserves software made for it. Wootzoo isn't an English-only product with Welsh added later. It's built from the ground up for Wales, bilingual from the first line of code, and shaped around how Welsh settings are inspected and funded.
That means CIW compliance, Flying Start and Childcare Offer invoicing, and Curriculum for Wales tracking, all in English and Welsh. The aim is a CIW-compliant ecosystem for Welsh childcare, with registers, children's records, parent communication and daily care connected in one place, so settings can spend their time on children instead of paperwork.
I build, sell and support it myself, and it's bootstrapped. It's used by real nurseries and cylchau today.
Mudiad Meithrin
Wootzoo has partnered with Mudiad Meithrin, the Welsh-medium early years organisation behind the Cylchoedd Meithrin, to build an affordable app for Welsh childcare.
Affordable matters. Going digital shouldn't be something only the biggest settings can manage, and a Welsh-language setting shouldn't have to settle for software that treats Welsh as an afterthought. Together we're building something that works in both languages, for the settings that need it.
