Webley Development

Not looking for work. Open to the right brief.

WebleyDevelopment

I'm a web architect and e-commerce specialist. I design, engineer and run commerce platforms, from the storefront to the server. I take on very few engagements, and the ones I take are well paid.

What I do

I architect commerce platforms: Shopify and WooCommerce storefronts, with bespoke PHP and Laravel systems engineered beneath them. Every engagement is carried from the first database table to the server it lives on.

I also keep the whole estate running: hosting, backups, caching and security, so there's one person to call when something is slow.

Behind it is Matthew Webley: fifteen years in PHP and Laravel, and founder of Wootzoo.

Work

  • Hymac Direct

A large WooCommerce clothing store. Pages were taking 11 to 20 seconds to respond. Fixing the server and caching brought that down to around 100 milliseconds.

  • PuzzleBug

A Shopify store. I've been building more online shops recently, on both Shopify and WooCommerce.

  • Wootzoo

A bilingual childcare management platform that I built, sell and support, made for Welsh nurseries and Cylch Meithrin settings. CIW compliance, registers, children's records and parent communication, in English and Welsh, used by real nurseries and cylchau.

  • Manhire Job Shop

A recruitment job board, with a Laravel portal for candidates and staff, CV uploads and applications.

  • Fun Foundations

A custom-built website for a day nursery, with fees, locations, policies and a contact form.

  • Hair Lounge Cardiff

One of my oldest sites, and one I still maintain.

Working together

  • Selective. I only take on one or two projects at a time, so I can give each my full attention.
  • Priced for the work. Day rates are high and quoted per project. If budget is the main concern, I'm probably not the right person.
  • A clear brief first. Tell me what you need built, by when, and what it's worth to you. I'll reply if it's a fit.
